ZUZI! Dance

Meredith Alvarado (she/her) has appeared in various theater vocal, and dance productions as well as commercials and film. She has been a member of the Zuzi! dance company since 2019 and has also danced extensively with companies around the country, including Mam Luft and Co., Eugene Bhangra, and as a guest artist in both graduate student and faculty concerts at the University of Oregon. She is currently the lead vocalist for the duo Steele Blue. Theatre credits include A Chorus Line, Rent, Guys and Dolls, Swing!, West Side Story, Bandstand, and Catch Me If You Can. Meredith's dance performance experience includes a range of styles, including West African, Bhangra, modern, ballet, contemporary, Middle Eastern, and hip-hop dance. Her dance home, however, is jazz dance, with her favorite styles being street jazz and funk. She is passionate about raising awareness of vernacular jazz dance and reminding others of its history.
