Malaika/Amala’ika (she/her) - is a mother, dance artist, kinesthetic storyteller, and healer who utilizes dance as a sacred space to investigate and visceralize meaning and the ever-unfolding phenomena of Life. Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, her work is informed by Afro-diasporic traditions of storytelling and shamanism, contemporary dance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Amala’ika has a BFA from the University of Arizona. She has performed with Jill Sigman Thinkdance, Artichoke Dance Company, and others.
